Although we cannot hold a live service in church due to the national lockdown restrictions, we have been able to film our annual act of Remembrance and it is now available on our Facebook page. If you start watching at 10:58am on the 8th of November then the two minutes silence should coincide with the national act of Remembrance. https://www.facebook.com/865999693496703/posts/3335939713169343/?sfnsn=scwspmo

You will hopefully have seen that the renovation project has started, the building has been scaffolded and the new roof slates are replacing the tired and worn ones! We have recently reached our target with the help of some generous donations and a series of grants. The following awarding bodies have contributed as follows: The George and Maisie Blackburn Fund have awarded us £20,000 The Garfield Weston Foundation have awarded us £10,000 The National Churches Trust has also awarded us £10,000 These 3 awards bring the total amount of grants awarded for the roof restoration to £48,450. This funding, which when combined with monies from the sale of some long-term investments and the money we have fundraised, has allowed us to instruct a specialist roofing company to commence work. We expect that the work will be completed in early 2020. Look out for further updates when it is nearing completion! Ian Fraser, Church Warden
Further funding has been received and work is set to start on the roof at some time after the 18th August 2019. Many thanks for all who have supported our fundraising efforts so far. During the period of the repairs Church Services and other events will be relocated so please check this website, the Church News Sheet or the Church Notice Board for details. There will also be a 1/2 Boon Day on Saturday 10th August to help prepare the Church for the repair work so all are welcome from 1pm on that day to support that work.
CHURCH ELECTORAL ROLL We are updating the church Electoral Roll, anyone who is not already on it can apply to be added. Forms are available from David Garstang or the wardens.
#Pray For The Roof Please pray for St Paul’s Church roof – that the damage doesn’t get any worse; that we get positive responses from current funding bids; and give thanks for people who have made donations.
2019 is The Year of Discipleship in the Blackburn Diocese. We are all called to grow closer to God and deepen our faith. There are already several notices in church about retreats, courses and quiet days; more will follow. So why not make a New Year’s resolution to do something to grow your faith in 2019.
Holy Trinity Church will be open on Saturday 18 February from 10:00 to 12:00. We warmly welcome you to drop in if you’d like to view the church or just have a peaceful rest.
